Product Manager
Responsibilities:
- Researching markets and competitors.
- Planning and constructing strategies and directions for products.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Experience with managing technical, dynamic and comprehensive projects.
- Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, communicational, strategic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability of working under pressure and inspiring a team to produce exceptional results.
- Experience with project management. Strong sense of responsibility throughout each task.
- Experience with launching Internet software or services a plus.
Requirements:
- B.A. / B.S. in a technical or quantitative or related field,
Computer science, and mathematics preferred.
- Solid science or engineering background.
- Gumption in product creation and analysis.
- Excellent written and communication skills; good command of English.
Software Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Implementing Zorpia.com's new or existing features under Perl environment.
- Working closely with product managers and UI designers to define and design user-centered website experience.
Skills & Knowledge:
- 3+ years software development experience.
- Experience with mod_perl application development, Apache on UNIX, UNIX based development, Relational Database (MySQL preferred), and Scalable architecture for internet systems.
- Familiar with Object Oriented development techniques for high-traffic websites (e.g. one million+ daily hits).
- Experience with MemCached is a plus.
- Familiar with template based web application development (Template Toolkit 2) is a plus.
Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in Computer Science/Mathematics preferred.
- Strong written and verbal skills; good command of English.
User Interface Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Defining the user model and user interface for Zorpia's new and existing products and features.
- Developing detailed, high quality mockups, prototypes and storyboards and being able to communicate ideas effectively.
- Assessing the usability of new and existing products and being able to communicate changes or suggestions effectively.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Experience with designing usable web-based interfaces, JavaScript, rapid prototyping.
- Expert in HTML, CSS and XHTML.
- Strong visual design sense.
- Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of Perl and MySQL preferred.
Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Strong written and verbal skills; good command of English.
Visual Designer
Responsibilities:
- Designing Zorpia's consumer-facing products in all stages.
- Working closely with product managers and engineers to design the most effective, creative, user-friendly consumer-oriented products.
Skills & Knowledge:
- 3+ years of experience in designing outstanding websites that is highly consumer-oriented.
- Expert in HTML and solid in CSS and JavaScript and familiar with Adobe Photoshop.
- Knowledge of HCI principles and web design practices.
Requirements:
- B.A. / B.S. or above in design related field; strong technical background preferred.
- Strong written and verbal skills; good command of English.
Software Test Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Work with the testing team to examine, report and track errors.
- Create test plans, set up test environments.
- Develop automated tests, execute and maintain automated test suites.
- Analyze results of tests.
Skills & Knowledge:
- 1 year of software testing experience.
- Exceptional communication and analytical skills, inclination to learn new testing technologies and ability to assess software quality.
- Proficiency in working on Unix/Linux.
- Experience in working with Perl or PHP.
- Experience in working with Java or C/C++.
Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Strong written and verbal skills; good command of English.
Technical Writer
Responsibilities:
- Organize Zorpia's documentation and make it accessible and useful to Zorpia's engineers and 3rd party developers.
- Identify documentation holes in the existing documents and repair them with great efforts.
- Edit and provide revision to the documents written by engineers.
- Facilitate engineers to improve their writing skills.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability and tendency to write sample code independently.
- Experience writing scripts or establishing tools to enhance the process of generating documentation.
- Experience working as a Programmer or QA Engineer.
- Proficiency of HTML, researching and writing very excellent software and/or QA-related documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read source code in various languages (e.g. Perl, Javascript, C++, etc).
Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Strong written and verbal skills; good command of English.
Website Administrator
Zorpia is looking for a website administrator, preferably in Manila, Philippines. The successful candidate will be working at home, and use their own equipment (computer with internet connection). Duties will include monitoring, and banning inappropriate material. Working hours are 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. No prior experience is required. Candidates must have good personality & enthusiasm.
